• Oh Monday… Be good to me;) lol

Last night I couldn’t sleep :( and as the icing on the cake, Mike was snoring AND talking in sleep. Here is what went down in the middle of the night…

    Mike “Do you have anything?”
    Me “What do you mean?”
Mike “Do you have anything????” (a bit louder this time)
Me “Mike! Do I have anything what? What do you mean? Your talking in your sleep!”
Mike “Do you have anything recorded yet?”

At this point I woke him up. It freaks me out when he’s sleep talking!! He does this now and again, he’s done it in front of my brother too. Apparently Mike was sleeping and he said “BOO!” really loud and starts laughing- All in his sleep!!

    Question for you:

In this moment, what are you thankful for?

  • Hey!!!!

Hello weekend!  The weekend to me right now means= NO CONSTRUCTION… They thankfully take weekends off. The noise these guys have been making the last couple months is INSANE. I understand, they have a job to get done, but it makes my life (job) difficult!

    construction at english bay

They remind me of the Doozers from Fragile Rock

Hee hee, they are ALWAYS out there doing stuff, but they never seem to get anything accomplished!! lol

What a great show, Fragile Rock was! Loved it!

Last night I met my friend Amanda for a visit (she happens to own the Award Winning SKN Clinic in Yaletown!)

While I was waiting for her to finish with a client, I took it upon myself to snap some pics of her clinic. Notice the Inspiration tree on the right. Clients can write their favourite quote or affirmation on a paper leaf and pin it to the tree!

I couldn’t think of a quote, first one that came to my mind I wrote on my leaf and pinned it up:

In order to have something you’ve never had, you have to do something you’ve never done!” Ahhh?? Like it??? It’s saying Feel the fear….and do it anyway!

I like in this pic how you can see the cute lil Buddha past the nice fresh flowers…

The clinic always has pretty fresh flowers in it!  They were so perfect, I had to ask Amanda if they were real! YUP! Lovely.

    fresh flowers, skn clinic

Best skin clinic in the city Award!!

This is Amanda:)This is another Amanda! Hi!

If you live in Van, check em out at

We ended up going to Cactus Club in Yaletown, we sat on the patio. There were heaters on and I even had a blanket on my chair to cozy up in… FUN!

While chatting, Amanda recommended this book the Dynamic Laws of Prosperity

I definitely wanted to read it. I read via audiobooks, but she suggested this one in hard copy.

I have been really wanting to get back into meditation/visualizing. This morning when I woke up, I found this music on Youtube. It is a 7 minute piece. I pressed play. I closed my eyes and started visualizing my goals, etc. I am going to do this everyday for 7 minutes. I might find a longer song to use eventually, but I liked the music/length to get into it!

Try it! Think of a goal you REALLY, REALLY, REALLY WANT. Play this video, close your eyes and just imagine yourself with that goal in mind as already achieved. What are you doing? where are you? Create a scene!

Have fun! This is one of the way professional athletes train, through visualization. It is very powerful if done on a consistent basis. Let me know how it goes!

  • Oh me oh my.

First off, my love and prayers go out to anyone affected by the Earthquake and Tsunami in Japan.

At 5am this morning my brother who lives in Lethbridge texted me and said to watch out for possible Tsunami coming my way. Mike is out of town, so I immediately jumped out of bed and looked outside. (Normally he would be the one jumping out of bed first) All looked normal to me..

I started to watch the online news and got updates that Vancouver would be ok, but Port Renfrew (where we hike every summer), would likely be hit. I always notice these signs when we hike, but you never think you’d ever have to use them…scary…

While I was keeping an eye on the ocean…. I noticed HIM again! The Halfman/half fish guy… he was going out for his swim in the middle of a Tsunami warning!!! I wanted to run downstairs and go warn him, but then I thought, he is half fish anyway so he would be ok

The ONLY difference I noticed in our ocean was that white line that went across.

It moved a bit… and that was it.

Thank you universe for keeping us safe and with all the love and prayers from my heart, I send it out to those at all hurt or affected by this event today!

So, I went about my day and made a batch of my almond butter. I put a bit to much molasses in it again!!! My recipe is here, but just use a few drops of molasses. It still tastes good, I just like when it’s lighter…

    Today’s batch…

A tad to much of this….

My cousin sent me an email asking me my favourite VEGAN recipes… WELL CUZ, I don’t cook too, too much. But a couple food blogs I really like are

I know there is a million out there, anyone want to recommend some vegan recipes/blogs for my cousin? She’s super sweet! (ok, and she’s drop dead gorgeous….)

I know, I know… you get your looks from me:lol!

At least I took my Jlo butt down to the treadmill today! I have felt like a slacker lately…Here’s my new shorts.

Here is my triathlon training schedule going into next week. I am getting back in the game FULL FORCE

And the last thing to round out my day was a very different type of voice job I landed. Where, in fact…it wasn’t a voiceover persay, but I had to do a web tutorial!! There was a lot of script to memorize, but genius me used a teleprompter right under the web camera..
The corporate me… lol… So if you see some random video of me on the internet endorsing some PC software…. Ummm, ya… that’s me:) Hi!

I am leaving you today with a quote:
“I know, that I have the ability to achieve the object of my definite purpose in life, therefore, I demand of myself persistent, continuous action toward it’s attainment and herein now promise to render such action!”
    Wanna hear it again???

  • Hey!

Today when I went for a coffee, I looked around and noticed that

Spring is starting to SPRUNG!spring at english bay

    Here’s a POEM about MARCH!

    Many reasons to get outside

A good time to polish off the ‘ol bike

Runners put away their ear warmers

Churches leave the doors open during mass

Handstands are neat and if I could walk on my hands, I would! Just to celebrate SPRING! hee hee

I had to work for this shot! I almost fell in the pond and I dropped my lens cap in the water and had to fish it out!

What else? Yesterday I voiced a phone system for a very successful photographer from NYC. Here is me reading just a few of his many credentials…

His name is Kevin Michael Reed. Here’s his site.

Other jobs I’ve been working on today: Discussing initial disclosure forms for a US financial corp, Then I worked on a translation for company in NY and  NOW I’m about to start on A kids game for learning ABC’s!!! FUN- I hope I get a copy of the game so I can send it to my nephew. I say things like “A, A is for Apple! B, B is for Bee, C, C is for Cat”

Y, Y is for yoga… (haha, not in the script) I was going to go to yoga today…but I think I might just skip it… We are going to the states tomorrow for a night, so I kinda just want to get as much work done as I can… I also just really don’t feel like yoga today… not sure why. I need to do Laundry too….BORING!

In NON-Boring news, I think I mentioned a while back that I might have a new job working with Stormtech- WELL, it’s official! At least once a month Mike and I will be out in the community (or wilderness) shooting video’s for this incredible outdoor apparel company. The Main headquarters is here in Vancouver., but they have headquarters in China, Sweden, Australia and New Zealand!  I am so honoured to be a part of such a great company!

Here is the 1st video we completed for them!

It really is an incredible jacket! I wear it almost everyday! It’s so versatile. We are waiting to find out where our next video will be filmed. It is either going to be here in Vancouver at Harry’s 8km road race OR we may be going to Yellowknife to an event called Frostbite 45. It’s a 45km event in the great White North! (yikes!) The trek is completed by ski’s or snowshoe/foot…

Y’all know me and my desire for challenge and adventure! I think Frostbite45 would be a great experience. This would be a true test of my viking roots. I just hope it’s warmer temperatures than normal:) I would NOT do the whole race. Mike and I would be a team and each take half. So we would each do 22.5km. Of course I would prefer laying on a white sandy beach, on a tropical Island, with an umbrella drink in hand… BUT I find that I relax and enjoy the luxurious moments in life even more after exploring the extremes! I love a challenge! ROAR!

I better get back to voicing my ABC’s…talk to you real soon

What is your cue that spring is in the air?

  • Hello!!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend! I had a great one, worked a bit, relaxed a bit and if you read yesterdays post, I learnt a bit as well;)
I woke up this morning to run 1hr40min with my club (with a tempo run the last 30 minutes..yikes). I was not sure how I was going to make it through, I just wasn’t feeling 100% up to par;) We all meet at The Right Shoe first to have a debriefing of our routes, pace groups, etc)

And after our meeting, we all set out on our way. During our runs, there is always someone different to run with for a bit, talk too, share stories, how your feeling, etc. This morning I had the opportunity to hear first hand an amazing story by one of my club mates named Catherine. (her stories helped keep me going on our run!) She had just gotten back from a trip to St. Helena. At first when she said she went to St. Helena, I honestly had no idea where on earth this place was…so to save you any of the same mind boggle…this is where it is:st. helena, running festival
Now to make a long story short…here are some bullet points of what happened in St. Helena. I ENCOURAGE YOU TO READ THE FULL STORY HERE

-Catherine was going on a trip to St. Helena with her dad

-She heard about a Running Festival that the Island had once a year in July (she was going in February, but she emailed the race director and asked if she could perhaps get a race t shirt)

-They decided to impromptly organize a marathon for Catherine to do on her own while she was visiting the island!! And then she could attain one of these coveted running shirts

-The only way to get to this island is by boat (on the boat, they threw a spontaneous fundraiser and raised over $1000 for St. Helena)st. helena boat- On the boat she met Bart Hackley, the man who holds the world record in the Guinness Book for the most triathlons completed in one year! WOW. (he ran with her a bit during her race)

    -Quote from the St.Helena Website:

“St. Helenians, also known as ‘Saints’, are known for their friendliness; everyone waves and greets each other, even to passing cars.

Saints are renowned for their hospitable nature.  Getting involved in our local social life will give you an insight into how vibrant, fun and welcoming we are.”

    - So naturally Catherine is greeted with open arms and is loving her vacation!

    - Time for Catherine to RUN her full marathon on St. Helena!Festival of Running, St. Helena

Sure is a beautiful Island!st. helena

This is one of the most hilly, up and down routes in excruciating HEAT! But you know what…….festival of running, st. helena

Catherine DID IT! AND….She got her SHIRT! (they made a special one for her)

AND she made the Islanders PROUDShe made her dad proud

And I sure hope 42km later, she made HERSELF proud

WAY TO GO CATHERINE!! (All of us at The Right Shoe are EXTREMELY proud of you!)

Like I said- You can read the story in Catherine’s words here.

    NEAT-O hey? YUP…..NEAT-O!
