  • Hello!!!

    Happy Monday!!!

2 things I’ve been asked about via email lately and I was inspired to write about them today. First off, someone asked me about my vision boards. They are super easy to do and they are a wonderful tool to bring you closer to your goals/dreams…. How do you create a vision board?

    YOU SIMPLY:

    1. Get a wack load of old magazines

    2. Cut out things that you are drawn to and that inspire you

    3. Glue or tape them to cardboard or a frame

    4. Put it up somewhere you will see it daily

    5. Look at it everyday and envision the things on it as yours. Imagine it. Feel it. See it.

This one below is an older one Mike and I made together…. (I kinda cut off Mike’s side to respect his privacy. You can see mine though, lol…)

Then while I was attending raw chef school. We were to fill out these ones as a homework assignment. This is what I came up with…

reaching goals, treasure mapping, brian mayne's goal mapping, vision board

This particular map has a specific way of charting it out: (I didn’t follow it though)

reaching goals, treasure mapping, brian mayne's goal mapping, vision board

HOWEVER! If you want a little help creating your goal map. Check this out that I found for you!!! It’s some instructions and templates that you can print out and make you own!! Or you can just do it the way I explained at the top. (magazines and scissors baby!) Again, here is an awesome, helpful Goal Mapping Link (by Brian Mayne)

I really want to have a vision board party like these ladies did at Travelmamas.com (Wine and vision boards? Sounds fun! Anyone in?)

OK, the second thing I’ve been asked lately are tips on losing weight. I really don’t know much other than what has “worked” for me. I use the term “worked’ loosely because I am NOT perfect or even close to eating perfect 100% of the time, but since I’ve been into raw foods- I have definitely noticed results.

    RANDOM TIPS:

    1. From the stuff I have been learning, it says that so much of our food consumption is emotional. We are mentally addicted to the foods we eat, even though so many of them do nothing for us nutritionally.

    2. In order to have something we’ve never had before- we have to do something we’ve never done.
I’ve lost 10 pounds since I started incorporating more raw foods into my life.(and that is just a bi-product- my energy and mental clarity is really amazing right now)

    3. Don’t beat yourself up, or do anything drastic, just make a decision in your mind that you are going to do it and you WILL do it.

    4. I love writing down my thoughts, goals. You could write, “I am sooo happy and grateful that I now fit into all my skinny jeans”, Or “that I know weigh x amount” Invision yourself at that weight and see and feel it. The more you feel it, the more it will become your reality.

    5. Try to have a shake for breakfast, reach for fruit, or something like carrot sticks and homemade hummus for snack,
If you like salads- make one everyday!

    6. It’s really important to stay away from white foods (I know it’s hard! My mom was just in town and it was cinnamon bun central over here! lol) But white foods (sugar, flour, rice, bread) ONLY make us more hungry. Their is NO nutrition in them, and our body is starving for nutrients, so it just gets hungrier. Most of these overly processed foods are actually toxic to our systems and that’s why we gain weight. Our fat cells store these acidic toxins and our body won’t let them go.

    7. Basically just try to eat as many “whole”, real foods as possible. Whole grain rice, legumes, fruits, veggies, (free range meat? if you eat meat), steamed yams..stuff like that.. .

    8. Of course, exercise too. That is a given. We not only need to move our bodies to keep our weight down, we need to move our bodies to starve off diseases (such as the damn cancer thing).

    9. Be happy! I try to eat well, but I don’t get upset if I eat cookies, nachos, or beer now and then. I’m always striving to be as healthy as possible and make the choices that count, but we are on earth a short time, so you gotta have some fun. Have a good life. Be happy! Smile….

Try this quote below in your elevator or in line at Starbucks tomorrow morning!!

And those are my super random tips. What would you add?

Keep in touch eh!? Lots of love, light and smiles!

PS> Day 5 of my 30 day yoga challenge in the bag!

  • Hey! Hi! Hello!

It’s back, my 2nd annual 30 day yoga challenge. Today was day 1. Only this year, I am doing Bikrams Yoga (ya, the HOT yoga). I am taking the classes at the Tri-City Studio on Lougheed. Today was great. I didn’t really push myself. Like when you do the 1/2 moon, I did like an 1/8 moon….just easing into it.

    Here’s the space.

After yoga, I did a bit of work before heading downtown to meet with a voiceover agent I have been trying to partner with for a long time…. I am happy to say……THEY SIGNED ME ON! I was so excited.

After I skipped out of their office, it was take Painter to English Bay time..

Fish House, Stanley Park, Vancouver, English Bay, Fall

Got a coffee (oops, tee hee) and walked down by Lost Lagoon.

    Fall, English bay, lost lagoon

We were kinda missing living in the West End as we strolled along…

    Fall, English bay, lost lagoon

    Beautiful crisp fall day.

    There a familiar sight!

    Fall, English bay, lost lagoon

This was Painter’s first time downtown, his only concern was the Geese…

    Fall, English bay, lost lagoon

and the squirrels, and the ducks and the raccoons. These raccoons may look innocent, but I kid you not, they are fierce. And Painter was whimpering to get closer to them!! GEESH!

It was a great day though. Hope yours was too! I am sooo beyond ready for my bed and I am headed there immediately.

    Thanks for stopping by!!!!

  • Hello!!!

How are my favourite peeps doing today? Enjoying the shorter work week??

Today was a good day at our camp. We pulled out the green screen so I could do an intro video for a client’s website.

While I was getting ready, Painter snagged my makeup sponge and ran. He ran out on the patio with it and he wouldn’t give it back! SO- I shut the patio door so he could think about what’s he’s done!

    bug puppy

He didn’t care though, he starred on at me while he chewed up the sponge…..so I let him back in. I need the Dog Whisperer….and a new sponge :p

    bug puppy

Painter was mostly good while we worked….even though it’s a family business and he is NOT holding up his duties.

    Brat. Cute.

The shoot went fairly quick and painless. I couldn’t do it without this man!! He does it all!! (heart him)

    audio production company

On Thanksgiving I bought a rose because the line ups were so deep with people buying last minute things that I snagged a rose so I could buy my stuff in the flower shop, I wanted to show Mike how much I love and appreciate him.

“A rose by any other name would smell as sweet”

When I got a massage last week, the masseuse gave me this sheet with stretches to do at home. I took a look at it and thought, “Or I could just do yoga?”

    stretch or do yoga?

And that is why my friends, tomorrow I am starting a 30 day HOT yoga CHALLENGE!!! This is becoming an annual thing. I decided to amp it up this year and make it hot.. OW OW

When you feel yourself getting too comfortable, I believe it’s a good time to shake things up, get out of your comfort zone and grow as a person!

What can you do to shake up your routine a bit?

If you need any support, I am here for you!

See you on the yoga mat…(sweating up a storm)

  • Hey low! Hi low! Hay lew… (all ways to express my gratitude in our exchange of cyber interconnectedness…HUH?)

Hmmm, I might be a little off my rocker now that I have reading glasses, as well as a Cool Wazoo! What is a Cool Wazoo you ask?

It’s an all new multifunctional 5 in 1cover that is the only baby pad you will ever need! The Cool Wazoo does it all.

It was invented by my friend Ginelle and it is becoming such a hit with moms that The Today Show did a piece on it! NO, I am not pregnant (yet, lol)…the reason I have the Cool Wazoo is because next week Mike and I are making a video for this mommy must have!!

I did a lil shout out to moms I know in the area to see if they want to be our talent pool. So far we’ve had a good response… I think it will be a super fun video so if you live in the Vancouver area and have a 0-3 year old and wanna be in our video- let me know!!

I met the inventor Ginelle when we were in Florida for a Passions to Profits seminar. This was the view from our hotel and boy how I would love to be there right now.

How cool would it be to invent something? Have you ever thought of an idea and then you notice it out on the market a few months later and think, “hey! I thought of that!” To be honest, I think the only time I think thoughts like that is when I hear a hit song on the radio and I think, damn, what an easy melody and chord progression- I could have thought of that! Ya, but I didn’t…lol…someone else did and good on them!

(random shot of me with old band)

I truly believe however that we are ALL freaking geniuses. This quote sums it up.

Right? I never could have dreamt up a Cool Wazoo, but I’m good for dreaming up other things. We all need to follow our inner creative genius….

What can you do that no one else can do. Everyone has something…. I saw this note the other day that I really enjoyed on how to unleash some creativity to get the juices flowing.

    Right?

Well, I must say HAPPY CANADIAN THANKSGIVING!!! This is what I was doing last Thanksgiving…..

I stopped and smelt the purty flowers.

Take care and we’ll talk tomorrow!!!!

  • Happy day my dear friends! Hope you had a great weekend. I am so pumped for this upcoming week, I think it’s going to be a good one.

We went out last night with some friends in Yaletown, hardest part is leaving the little pooch.

“Bye Painter”, be a good boy!” (ya right- trouble is his middle name!)

On the drive downtown, we were scoping out the newly renovated soccer/football stadium that cost 7 trillion dollars, haha. I haven’t been in but apparently the retractable roof is pretty neat because all those strings light up when your inside and it looks like stars. (a friend was recently in there)

    The new BC place, Vancouver

    Ready to Rumble!

    Self portrait while driving

We met up with our friends Amanda and Chenier at the New Oxford House in Yaletown.

    The New Oxford Pub, yaletown

It was pretty dead when we first got there…

    The new oxford pub

but some cocktails and good conversation later, the place was booming. (I obviously only got shots when it was NOT busy, lol)

Bathroom self portrait! This was in honour of Skinny Runner!!! (she is a lovely blogger who is known for her bathroom self portraits!)

After an awesome night, we came home and Mike was playing fetch with Painter. He threw the ball at a glass on the counter and it shattered everywhere!

Today was a good, but lazy day.  I lounged around, Mike played hockey, then we took little pantsies (painter) for a walk. Mike was trying to teach him to jump over the bushes!

    It didn’t quite work out!

He plopped right in the middle of the bush and started eating the leaves. haha. He did make it over a few times though, looked pretty cute.

Tomorrow I am doing yoga, writing in my journal, voicing a 4500 word project, mailing my wedding invites…wedding invites

And then going to the SPA! Can’t wait.

Get ready for an awesome week, I just spent some time writing out my goals for the week and the month. Trying to get clear on what needs to get done. It definitely helps.

    Take care
