Archive: CRAZY ME:)

  • Oh golly gosh darn! Hello there!

Today one of my clients informed me that a new running app that I voiced was now available for purchase on itunes!
I was so excited. I have voiced tons of stuff in my career, but voicing a running app is so cool to me…Maybe because running was always such a big thing in my family. My brother Cory is a competitive middle distance runner whom I have always looked up too…..

Here’s Cory when he was getting filmed for a video for his sponsor Stormtech Performance Apparel.

This was last summer in Taber, Alberta during CORN FEST!!!

OH, and my bro got a GOLD Medal for a 1st place fisnish in the 10km run. Couldn’t be more proud..

If I ever need workout motivation, I text my brother and ask him what he’s been up to running-wise…..

Ha! Ya, that’s my brother for ya. He trains himself, he is AMAZING.

Need running motivation? Listen to…….ME! On this NEW running App!!!! I am so excited about it… BUY IT

I bought it today, but haven’t tried it yet. Let ME motivate you on your runs!! lol I don’t say much, just how far you’ve run, congrats, stuff like that… but I’m curious to see how it turned out;)

I haven’t done much running. Since  I got my bunny hug with head phones, I have been walking to pilates so I can  listen to audiobooks as I walk amongst the palm trees. (So- I have been rocking the pilates, but I am going to start running more and trying out the App voiced. My foot has been feeling DAMN good, so I think I can get back into the running)

Such an nice walk along the California Palm trees…

In honour of Canada, we bought Painter a moose from PETCO.
He ate the moose’s ear and foot OFF by the time we got home.. 4 minute drive!

Spent $70 bucks at PETCO and he just DESTROYS all his blessings and gifts….JERK! haha

Well, tonight Mike and I went for dinner on the Pier right where we live. It was a windy, sorta chilly evening, (for Californians, NOT Canadians…Mike was in a t-shirt lol) It was a lovely evening. We brainstormed our next steps, ideas, actions, goals and had happy-hour margarita’s to boot…. Pretty cool eh??? oooooohhhhhhhh yaaaaaa! haha

Thanks for stopping by…….I see all the light and golden abundance that surrounds you. You are ROCKING this week. All the angels and the stars see your light….they are sending you a new idea…… What is the new idea that they are giving you?? Seriously. Sounds crazy…but be creative…there is an idea inside you that is wanting to be acted upon…DO IT.

  • Hey Gang!

    What’s shakin this weekend??

Me, I’ve just been shopping in the JR. section at JC Penny. I know, pretty rad!
Ok, take a close look at my new neon pink bunnyhug (we call them bunnyhugs where I come from!)

I know your wondering, WHY are Amanda’s hoodie strings in her ears????

    hoodie buddy
They are ear buds…oh my…what fun I can have listening to music and audiobooks on my way to pilates and while walking on the beach. When I was little I used to lose my mittens, so I’d need that string attached to the mitts that went through the back of my jacket. Now, this is like the big person version of the mitten string….A hoodie that has ear buds in the strings…

    bunny hug buddy

This may be more of a high school kid novelty, but I LOVE them:)

I also got a new pair of really comfy slip ons, since Painter has pretty much destroyed my other 2 pairs of flats that I have with me here… These Rocket Dogs were only $25… Feel like slippers on…

    rocket dogs, neutral

I took my new shoes and my new sweater on a walk to visit a fellow voiceover artist whom I hadn’t met in person yet. Her name is Lisa Biggs. Guaranteed you have heard her before on your TV. She is the voice on many, many cartoons, animations, commercials, videogames, kids toys, etc. She just voiced a toy dog for Fisher Price, And Hasbro hired her to be the voice of a new Pound Puppy toy coming out next year!

(btw-doesn’t it look like that fish on the wall is telling me a secret? haha)

Lisa has even been a character on The Simpsons! She is amazing… I don’t really do character voices or animation, but it was soooo cool chatting with her about the biz. She has been doing it for about 12 years and knows so much about the industry.

    Check her out at

We went for lunch at a fun mexican restaurant by the beach.

Can’t wait to hang out again:)

Earlier today we took Painter to the dog park. I am teaching him to STAY in the back seat when he’s in the truck.

He’s been doing really good at staying back there! Good boy…

I don’t think I’ve showed you my little studio set up down here. Pretty cute hey? lol… The curtain comes down when I’m recording.. It looks like some kind of weird green space missle…

    voiceover, home studio

It’s really doing the trick though. Been keeping busy with a variety of fun, interesting projects. One project I’ve been loving is voicing an on-going course on Global Warming for the University of San Franscisco. I’m totally digging it!

Oh gosh, I better go.. Painter is crawling on me like a jungle gym.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!!!!

  • Hi!

I was walking along the street to pilates and I kept looking down the sidestreets at the most beautiful sunset and after about the 5th block, I thought—”Why the heck am I not walking on this parallel street and not along the beach?” Sometimes I’m not the sharpest pencil in the pencil case? (I don’t even know how that saying goes..)

Pilates was AWESOME tonight. I love trying new things, I’m always up for an adventure. I put on my way overpriced toeless “tread socks” and Painter was looking up at me like, “I swear, I didn’t eat these ones!”

    stars, tread socks, pilates
I’m gonna go as much as I can though. I really want to see some definition! Come on!

Wanna hear the latest gossip? 2 really good family friends of Mike’s family and my family MET and fell in LOVE on the night of our wedding. Our long time family friend Chad  (like since I was born) met Mike‘s sister’s best friend Tia and now their wedding is set on October. So happy for them!

Speaking of our wedding. I got some pictures back- LOVE THEM!

I wont bombard you with all 375 (yet), but here is my family group shot.

    My new In-Laws!

Here’s my brothers walking me down the isle.

And a cute shot of my mom… She helped out sooo much that day. She always has a bounce in her step.. Love you mom!

Do you ever have those days where you miss your mom? (if you live away from her, haha) Sometimes I can’t sleep cause I just miss my mom. You know what I mean right? It’s all good cause I get to see her in Vegas next month.I <3 my mom

Tell your mom you love her!

Alright, I’ll get off this emotional train now and come back tomorrow with some true grit tough-guy talk! haha

    Woo hoo! Bye for now…xo

  • Hey gang!
What’s up? My bff just came for a visit!

We did a styled photo shoot on the beach. It was super fun!

We had a stylist named Diana, who created a bunch of cool outfits.

The shoot was just for fun, a creative collaboration.

The crew. Stylist, poser (me) and amazing photographer Janna.

During the visit we also hit up Venice

    Crazy Venice…

Muscle Beach where Arnold used to train back in the day.

Janna and her hubby Kim, out for lunch in Venice.

Not sure who lives here, or what is going on here.

    The boardwalk.

    Zen in Venice.

    YAY. Having a good time.

Hope your having a wonderful weekend! I’ll be back sooooooooon.

  • Hello!

Last night we went to one of my old stomping grounds, just off Hollywood blvd. It’s a super cool dive bar called Boardners.

Right beside is an obscure entrance that leads into another world. This place is called Bar Sinister. It is something else.

Everyone said to take pictures, and although I got a few…they had these NO Camera signs EVERYWHERE. And not just because celebs like Dave Navarro are walking around (he was there with a lady friend) But because some CRAZINESS goes on behind these doors.

Especially in the upstairs. Mike and I had NO idea that the upstairs was gonna be what it was…. so we went back down to the outdoor courtyard where some awesome bands were playing.. (not sure why this is underlining everything I type…annoying!!)

Including our good friends in a Vancouver band called Stayte. GO Stayte! They put on a rocking show. Lead singer Josh is known for his outlandish yet compelling stage presence. The rest of the band played flawlessly. This was their first show in almost 6 years.

Met a gal named Christie. We took this picture at 12:12 on 02/2012

I loved this bumper sticker I saw on the way home.

Painter was like, “what’s up guys, where were you?”

Back to our lil beach community:) Makes me smile.

Busy day tomorrow. More car commercials…woo hoo! Need my voice to get all rested up.

Have an awesome Monday. Here’s to an awesome week!!!
