  • Hello!

My girlfriend and I hit up the biggest mall in Vancouver, looked top to bottom for 5 hours and couldn’t find the wedding shoes I want, so I settled with these….

Ha, just joking, but these are kind of what I have been looking for…except maybe closed toe since we’ll be in the middle of winter in Saskatchewan.

It looks like I’m going to have to go downtown for them. We were looking at Metrotown. We had fun though.

We bought each other the same pj’s and same bracelet from Forever 21 for our Christmas presents. It just worked out we both liked the same thing, so we thought, “Heck let’s buy them both for each other and call it Christmas!”

I won’t show you the pj’s (cuz I already have them on and there kind of too cutsy for the blog, lol) But here are our bracelet’s…

    Forever 21 beaded Braclete

Cute hey? (Mike took this picture for me- I was sitting at the computer like a blimp, “Mike, can you take a picture of my new bracelet?”)

When I got home, Mike was in the middle of a recording session. Making music is always a good thing!

I am on Day 6 of my cleanse!!!!!! How am I doing it??? I don’t even know myself. My Vitamix is getting me through it for making it so darn easy..
Here is a smoothie I made right before I went out. No water in this one (my glass jar is way to big for the liquid, but you get the point… ha

    My new smoothie

    1 cup of mangos

    1 cup of raspberries

    2 big handfuls of Spinach

    1 banana

Day 7 in the morning. Have headaches on and off throughout the day, but I think my body is in major detox mode.

Hope your having a fantastic weekend. I’ll be back, large and in charge tomorrow!

  • Hey!

Happy Friday! Definitely a festive time of year and the December weekends are that much better! Christmas parties, gatherings, decorating, baking. Today is Day 5 of my Green Smoothie cleanse. Doing a cleanse during this time of year is definitely hard! All the  Christmas cheer going around, I just want in on it. I went for coffee with my girlfriend today, I had a tea. I’m feeling good though. I know the greens are treating my system well. Everyday gets easier. You don’t have to think about what your gonna have for lunch!  SMOOTHIE!

I was reading the Vitamix hand book and it suggests to REALLY wash your fruits and veggies. Like with a mild soap. I have never done that before. Have you? It’s a good idea though, to really get those pesticides off. Can anyone recommend a wash for veggies?

Until then, they are in the rinsing basket. Today I picked Chard, Watercress, cilantro, parsley and celery.

    chard, celery, watercress, cucumber

Added freshly squeeze orange juice and lemon juice. Threw in a banana too.

Some organic frozen blueberries (gosh are they expensive when their not in season..)

This one was exceptionally tasty. Sometime I just get the right combinations. Sometimes not. I actually had to dump one a couple days ago, the combo was brutal.

Here’s a few recipes I found on Drbenkim.com, I think I’ll try the Spinach Mango one next. I have frozen cut up mango in my freezer.

1 head romaine or green leafy lettuce
    2 cups water

    Ingredients:

Large handful of red seedless grapes, stems removed
Basket of fresh or frozen strawberries, stems removed
    1 frozen banana, peeled
    1/2 head romaine lettuce

Man, day 5 already. My #1 plan in the first place was 14 days, then I got anxious and said 20. I will absolutely do the 14 days, but I’ll see how I’m feeling on Day 14 an either continue, or do a combo of smoothies and some salads, nuts, etc. I have the most energy in the morning, I feel really good, then towards the end of the day like around dinnertime, my energy is not as vibrant. (could just be because I worked all day and I’m tired, lol)

I have a bunch of scripts on their way, but for voiceovers I didn’t have too much to do today which was nice. We went for a stroll to Rocky Point.

Rocky Point, Port Moody BC dec.2011

Actually I was kinda walking by myself because Mike took Painter on his rollerblades. I will take a pic next time, it was so funny, but here was my view walking down the crisp path. I was bundled up like crazy!

Check out these shots Mike took just now… wow with the birds right under the moon….nice.

    As it got darker…

Definitely a sign the universe is a beautiful, powerful place. Looking at that with Christmas music in the background got me a bit emotional… (Imagine me at my wedding!? I am going to be a mess. Waterproof mascara to the MAX!)

Have an absolutely wonderful weekend! xoxo

  • Hi team!

Nice day here in Port Moody.

Managed to take the little one to the park. He is pretty much healed from his stitches, which is awesome. It’s nice to see him running again.

Just like me! I hit up the gym again today. Very light workouts, since I am on DAY 4 of my green smoothie cleanse. A friend of mine asked me how I find motivation for staying on a green smoothie cleanse… Well…. Everybody’s doing it!!

So really, tips on how I am staying loyal to the cleanse and why:

-when I finished the 30 day raw food cleanse, I felt unbelievable. Imagine eating ONLY fruits and veggies. I know I am going to feel amazing when this is done.
-when I wake up in the morning, I write down in my journal “why” I am doing this. It helps me stay on track.
-I want my cells to be cancer-free. It is impossible for cancer cells to multiply in an alkaline environment. It is the acid residue from processed foods that cancer feeds off of.
-doing a cleanse “resets” the taste buds, the cravings for “bad” food. I know if I stopped the cleanse tomorrow I would be in heaven to eat a clean, healthy diet.
-I know I am detoxifying my body from waste that has been stored up in my fat cells. (That’s where toxins are stored, in our fat cells!)
-I want to feel amazing on my wedding day. I want to look bad at my pictures and think, wow, I looked good;)
-It’s good to be accountable while your completing a challenge or goal. This blog is holding me accountable, so I don’t want to veer off track. Even a family member or friend can be your support system.
-I really want to be raw 100% of the time and doing a cleanse will be one more step I take to getting there. (even to be vegan 100% of the time would be amazing, since I still indulge in dairy products now and then)

-If your on a health kick or trying to accomplish a goal, just take it day by day. Right now, I am not thinking, OMG I have x many days to go. I am taking it one day at a time!

It will be time to celebrate before I know it (not that this isn’t a celebration, but come on, it’s Christmas!!) I am so excited to reunite with ALL my family at my wedding. My auntie posted this picture of our crew. This was at my cousin Robin’s wedding. (I was rocking the brown hair then)

From left to right: My sister-in-law Donnelly, brother Cory, Fiance Mike, me, brother David, sister-in-law Nicole (Jasper was in her belly at that point) MOMMY and her one and only truest love Richard! (I love bugging my mom)

This little Elf is our ring-bearer on our big day!

Too cute! He can walk now.

My best friend that I’ve know since I was 11 is taking photo’s for us during the ceremony and doing formals. Check out her amazing photography.

Here is an inspiration photo she had up on her blog, I will definitely have red shoes on!

Speaking of feet shots, I found this one on the net I thought was charming.

Ok, let me leave you with a rendition on Baby It’s cold outside that Mike and I recorded in 2008. We made this fun video the same day!

Woo hoo, and actually it is cold outside. I just made tea, put on my robe and slippers. So cozy now!

    Have a great evening!!

  • When is the best time to buy budgies? When they’re going cheap ! haha, I thought I’d break the ice today with a bird joke in honour of the thousands of birds I saw today when I was out and about. There were hundreds of them just hanging out and flying around together

Who leads these packs? Is it all instinct or is there a leader?

I know the perched on the ledge, cone head man would have LOVED to chase those birdies!

Ha. Today we dropped the videos we made in LA off at Stormtech! They previewed them all and loved them! Woo hoo. It sure was a great trip. Just may have to go back soon….

Today was day 3 of my Green Smoothie Cleanse. It is going well. NOT a breeze, but I am pushing through. Day 3 already? Well that’s sure good… I made a video about what I’ve been up too…Enjoy!

Eating coffee? Tastes Magical? Mistakes left in and all. tee hee.

While I was out and about running errands, I picked up a couple tea’s. The “cleanse” one has Nettle in it and I heard it is good for the skin. (It also says on the box-’to purify your skin”)

When your on a cleanse, tea’s are like a treat. I have been enjoying them.

Busy voiceover day in the morning, so I better rest up. Hope you are all doing fantastic. Tis the season!!

    xo

  • Hello there!

How goes the holiday season? I am doing things a little backward this holiday season. I am starting a cleanse before Christmas, while most might consider it after. I want to feel amazing inside out. I want my cells to shine brighter than the star atop my Christmas tree. (cheezy! haha)

Today is DAY 2!! Wow, honestly anything after day 1 feels like a big accomplishment. It is not an easy thing to do… but if I can do it, you can do it!

This morning I woke up and right away got out my Vitamix to start rocking and rolling on a morning smoothie. I did my “classic” green shake. (Which I will share with you tomorrow, when I share a video of the recipe!)

I started with Cucumber, celery, parsley…

Added in spinach, ginger and lemon juice.  In my old blender I used to cut off the skin off the ginger, but with the Vitamix, it is demolishes the skin into bits and I could never tell it was left on.

    Cilantro..

Then a banana and hit blend! What a refreshing way to start the day!

In my second shake of the day, I added in a pear….mmm,

Then after the gym, I needed sugar and high calories! I blended up a mainly fruit smoothie, with a bit of spinach..

I shared with Mike this time…

“Let thy Food be thy Medicine and thy Medicine be thy Food” – Hippocrates

Still not sure that a plant based diet will save lives? If you have a bit of time. Please watch this documentary!

If you don’t have time to watch it now, definitely check it out when you can. I also watched another documentary today called “Food Matters”. More good stuff about how you really can heal disease through nutrition. I am a believer.

One of my weak moments today was holding the door open for a guy who had 2 Starbucks coffee’s in his hand. They were probably Peppermint Mocha Latte…In that moment, I was like, “ugh, I want a latte for me and a friend.” But I remember the “why’s”. and remembered “This too shall pass.”

Other than that, today I did some wedding stuff, went to the gym, finished a big voiceover project and took care of some business. Good day at our camp. Hope yours was great too!

    Be in touch!
