• Hi team!

Nice day here in Port Moody.

Managed to take the little one to the park. He is pretty much healed from his stitches, which is awesome. It’s nice to see him running again.

Just like me! I hit up the gym again today. Very light workouts, since I am on DAY 4 of my green smoothie cleanse. A friend of mine asked me how I find motivation for staying on a green smoothie cleanse… Well…. Everybody’s doing it!!

So really, tips on how I am staying loyal to the cleanse and why:

-when I finished the 30 day raw food cleanse, I felt unbelievable. Imagine eating ONLY fruits and veggies. I know I am going to feel amazing when this is done.
-when I wake up in the morning, I write down in my journal “why” I am doing this. It helps me stay on track.
-I want my cells to be cancer-free. It is impossible for cancer cells to multiply in an alkaline environment. It is the acid residue from processed foods that cancer feeds off of.
-doing a cleanse “resets” the taste buds, the cravings for “bad” food. I know if I stopped the cleanse tomorrow I would be in heaven to eat a clean, healthy diet.
-I know I am detoxifying my body from waste that has been stored up in my fat cells. (That’s where toxins are stored, in our fat cells!)
-I want to feel amazing on my wedding day. I want to look bad at my pictures and think, wow, I looked good;)
-It’s good to be accountable while your completing a challenge or goal. This blog is holding me accountable, so I don’t want to veer off track. Even a family member or friend can be your support system.
-I really want to be raw 100% of the time and doing a cleanse will be one more step I take to getting there. (even to be vegan 100% of the time would be amazing, since I still indulge in dairy products now and then)

-If your on a health kick or trying to accomplish a goal, just take it day by day. Right now, I am not thinking, OMG I have x many days to go. I am taking it one day at a time!

It will be time to celebrate before I know it (not that this isn’t a celebration, but come on, it’s Christmas!!) I am so excited to reunite with ALL my family at my wedding. My auntie posted this picture of our crew. This was at my cousin Robin’s wedding. (I was rocking the brown hair then)

From left to right: My sister-in-law Donnelly, brother Cory, Fiance Mike, me, brother David, sister-in-law Nicole (Jasper was in her belly at that point) MOMMY and her one and only truest love Richard! (I love bugging my mom)

This little Elf is our ring-bearer on our big day!

Too cute! He can walk now.

My best friend that I’ve know since I was 11 is taking photo’s for us during the ceremony and doing formals. Check out her amazing photography.

Here is an inspiration photo she had up on her blog, I will definitely have red shoes on!

Speaking of feet shots, I found this one on the net I thought was charming.

Ok, let me leave you with a rendition on Baby It’s cold outside that Mike and I recorded in 2008. We made this fun video the same day!

Woo hoo, and actually it is cold outside. I just made tea, put on my robe and slippers. So cozy now!

    Have a great evening!!

  • When is the best time to buy budgies? When they’re going cheap ! haha, I thought I’d break the ice today with a bird joke in honour of the thousands of birds I saw today when I was out and about. There were hundreds of them just hanging out and flying around together

Who leads these packs? Is it all instinct or is there a leader?

I know the perched on the ledge, cone head man would have LOVED to chase those birdies!

Ha. Today we dropped the videos we made in LA off at Stormtech! They previewed them all and loved them! Woo hoo. It sure was a great trip. Just may have to go back soon….

Today was day 3 of my Green Smoothie Cleanse. It is going well. NOT a breeze, but I am pushing through. Day 3 already? Well that’s sure good… I made a video about what I’ve been up too…Enjoy!

Eating coffee? Tastes Magical? Mistakes left in and all. tee hee.

While I was out and about running errands, I picked up a couple tea’s. The “cleanse” one has Nettle in it and I heard it is good for the skin. (It also says on the box-’to purify your skin”)

When your on a cleanse, tea’s are like a treat. I have been enjoying them.

Busy voiceover day in the morning, so I better rest up. Hope you are all doing fantastic. Tis the season!!

  • Hello there!

How goes the holiday season? I am doing things a little backward this holiday season. I am starting a cleanse before Christmas, while most might consider it after. I want to feel amazing inside out. I want my cells to shine brighter than the star atop my Christmas tree. (cheezy! haha)

Today is DAY 2!! Wow, honestly anything after day 1 feels like a big accomplishment. It is not an easy thing to do… but if I can do it, you can do it!

This morning I woke up and right away got out my Vitamix to start rocking and rolling on a morning smoothie. I did my “classic” green shake. (Which I will share with you tomorrow, when I share a video of the recipe!)

I started with Cucumber, celery, parsley…

Added in spinach, ginger and lemon juice.  In my old blender I used to cut off the skin off the ginger, but with the Vitamix, it is demolishes the skin into bits and I could never tell it was left on.

Then a banana and hit blend! What a refreshing way to start the day!

In my second shake of the day, I added in a pear….mmm,

Then after the gym, I needed sugar and high calories! I blended up a mainly fruit smoothie, with a bit of spinach..

I shared with Mike this time…

“Let thy Food be thy Medicine and thy Medicine be thy Food” – Hippocrates

Still not sure that a plant based diet will save lives? If you have a bit of time. Please watch this documentary!

If you don’t have time to watch it now, definitely check it out when you can. I also watched another documentary today called “Food Matters”. More good stuff about how you really can heal disease through nutrition. I am a believer.

One of my weak moments today was holding the door open for a guy who had 2 Starbucks coffee’s in his hand. They were probably Peppermint Mocha Latte…In that moment, I was like, “ugh, I want a latte for me and a friend.” But I remember the “why’s”. and remembered “This too shall pass.”

Other than that, today I did some wedding stuff, went to the gym, finished a big voiceover project and took care of some business. Good day at our camp. Hope yours was great too!

    Be in touch!

  • Hello!

Happy Monday to you! Hope you had a fantastic weekend. Here’s to an amazing week ahead!!!

I am feeling terrific right now. Why? Because today is DAY 1 of a 20 day Green Smoothie Cleanse. It has been just over 1 month from my surgery. If you are just tuning in, you can read about my precancerous cells.

Since finding out about the cells and that I would need surgery, I really started to investigate why we get cancer and so many other diseases in the first place. Through my journey, the deeper I dove into it, the more I discovered that eating a plant-based diet is a HUGE factor in starving off disease.

I became a certified Raw Food Chef, took a 4 week series of classes called Feed Life Starve Cancer, and went to the Ocean Resort Hotel, for a Raw Food Weekend. Here’s a video we made about our experience…

This past month, with all the travelling I was doing, I was NOT on a full plant based diet at all. I tried to make good choices while in LA, we went to Trader Joe’s to get a bunch of salad stuff and got green smoothies from Cafe Gratitude, but the plants were few and far between the Mexican food….

I feel in a really good place right now to RE-SET, get back on track and fuel my body with living enzymes, vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients, and now I present to you my partner in crime for my 20 day Green Smoothie Cleanse:

THE VITAMIX! I cannot tell you how many times I have heard that this is THE blender you need to assist you in rocking a plant based existence. I heard time and time again that this blender is a life changer. So, at one of my classes, I was sandwiched between an older lady who was fighting breast cancer and a hip, earthy yoga instructor. They were both Vitamix owners. Simultaneously I asked them, “Does the Vitamix REALLY change your life?” They both looked at me and in unison I got an upbeat, excitable, “YES!”

    Here is my new friend….

    Vita-mix Green smoothie cleanse

As I unpacked her, I noticed it came with a binder containing recipes, tips, tricks and even a dvd on getting started.

    Vita-mix Green smoothie cleans

This card is for impatient people like me who are too excited to read or watch a dvd. (I’ll investigate all that soon!)

    Vita-mix Green smoothie cleans

My first smoothie of the 20 day cleanse. I used greens, a cucumber…

    Green smoothie cleanse, Vita-mix

    Freshly squeezed lemon juice..

    freshly squeezed lemon juice

    Dates and ginger…

And Voila. My good morning shake

The Vitamix works ridiculously amazing, it opens up all the cell walls of the greens, so it’s very easy for your body to assimilate and digest the green goodness. It makes the smoothies taste better too since it is blended sooo well and it takes 1/4 of the time it took my other blender that left chunks. I am a happy camper.

For lunch I threw in 2 banana’s, kale, mixed berries and 2 dates for a sweeter lunch.

And dinner, a wack of spinach, 2 dates, banana, lemon and ginger…

    green smoothie cleanse

Just finished this as I am writing.

I am also drinking Green Tea. Today was also my first day back at the gym since my surgery(It was a rough one!) But I got through it and am feeling extremely optimistic about the next 20 days. I know there will be rough patches, but I also know that when my cleanse is done (on Christmas Day!) I am going to feel amazing. My cells are going to be sooooo happy.

Anyone out there want to join me on this journey? Try a 3 day cleanse?

Here’s a couple good recipes to start with.

    Dr. Oz’s Green Smoothie

    • 2 cups spinach
    • 2 cups cucumber
    • 1 head of celery
    • 1/2 inch or teaspoon ginger root
    • 1 bunch parsley
    • 2 apples
    • Juice of 1 lime
    • Juice of 1/2 lemon

Glowing Green Smoothie by nutritionist Kimberly Snyder

    • 1 1/2 cups water
    • 1 head organic romaine lettuce, chopped
    • 3-4 stalks organic celery
    • 1/2 head of a large bunch, or 3/4 of a small bunch of spinach
    • 1 organic apple, cored and chopped
    • 1 organic pear, cored and chopped
    • 1 organic banana
    • Juice of 1/2 fresh organic lemon

I will be giving you more recipes along the way…. Feel free to experiment and come up with your own!

If you don’t want to commit to a cleanse, may I suggest adding a green smoothie to your morning routine?

Take care and we’ll talk tomorrow!

  • HI!

I got so much wedding stuff done this weekend:

    -got liquor license

    -ordered alcohol

-picked out and put deposits on decorations

    -rented lighting

-got a shuttle driver from the venue to hotel

-called my caterer (he needs to call me back)

    -figured out flowers

-tried on my dress again and saw my mom in the one she’ll be wearing

    -bonded with my inlaws

-trained the ring bearer how to walk down the aisle (watching Jasper walk down the isle will definitely be a highlight)

I set up shop at my moms and we really did get a lot down. It went from a disorganized-disaterous event, to A PLANNED WEDDING.

    working on wedding stuff

I’m the last of my sibling to get married. My brothers are walking me down the isle (they are also my “bridesmen”)

Here’s my brother Dave at his wedding to Nicole.

And my brother Cory’s wedding to Donnelly.

Next down the isle is Mike and myself. (Then my mom and her boyfriend Richard! haha- I love bugging them)

After another day of running around in Saskatoon, I caught my flight home late last night. I had to touch down in Calgary, then finally made it to Vancouver after midnight.

Today has been a huge voiceover catchup day. I had sessions with clients from Conair today and I was actually on the phone with them the whole time I recorded. It always adds to the intensity of the session to have 3 people on speaker phone telling you to re-do lines, or sound less like this, or that. But I must say, these clients have been wonderful to work with…

First I voiced a spot for this product…

    Then these ones…

Just now, we picked up little Painter from the vet. Poor lil guy got his balls chopped today. It really sucks knowing your little pup is in pain. He is so groggy and out of it.  He’s sleeping right beside me right now.

How’s your week going? Keeping busy? OMG I need to get to the gym. I can finally work out again (after surgery I had to take 3 weeks off from everything, even yoga) But now… no excuses. I get married in a month….eeeeek!

    Ok, well let’s talk tomorrow!
