• Hi hi hi hi hi hi hi hi hi hi hi

Alright, now that we got our hello’s out of the way…How are you today? I’m going to get right into it!

We are talking about saviours today. I have 3 for today (yes, I could dream up more but here are my 3 saviours of the day!)

    1. YOGA

Today is DAY 10 already of my 30 day yoga challenge at Semperviva. I am obsessed with the studio and when my 30 days is up, I cannot imagine not still going. Yoga helps with everything. Here is a few positive changes I have noticed since doing yoga for 10 days in a row so far:

    -my voice sounds better

    -I am more flexible

    -more relaxed

-finding it easier to visualize my goals

    -toning up

    -better breath control

You also really get to know your body, what it can do, what it can’t do and how to work on becoming more balanced.

For example, try this: Reach your arms behind you like this and try to touch your hands:

No problem, they can easily touch, now try it with the other side:

Not even close YO! WHY? From my car accident? Born that way? I wonder if yoga will fix that? Not that I really care- just weird.. Can you touch  your hands on both sides? As much as I love yoga, I enjoy a good ol workout still. Going to try to fit in a hike this weekend and also going for a run with a friend tomorrow.

    2. Dr. Wayne Dyer

Dr. Wayne Dyer is coming to Vancouver, next Tuesday. Nov.23. If you don’t know much about him, his website is . I have been following him for a while now, but have never seen him LIVE! I can’t wait. I saw on facebook that ticketmaster is now taking 20% off the ticket prices. I am telling you this because I think you should go! Here is a link so you can get the deal.  This is my FAVOURITE book of his.

    And last but not least..

    Saviour #3 Tommy Europe

This guy is amazing, I am sure you have seen him on TV for the Last 10 Pound  Bootcamp and Bulging Brides. What girl hasn’t thought to herself, “Imagine being trained by Tommy?”  And now ladies- YOU CAN! He has been offering his Shred Bootcamp across Canada and he will be in Vancouver DEC.5!!! I feel blessed that Tommy had a cameo in our Olympic video, If you haven’t seen it, check it out!!
    He’s at the 1:27 mark!

  • Hello!!

My my were the winds fierce here in Vancity last night- you feel that? I could not record anything, even in my sound booth the winds were going nuts! White caps galore on the ocean front. I had to bring in all the patio furniture and it was so hard to sleep! Here is what it looked like this morning, way way calmer, but still a bit windy.

I’m not gonna lie, I’m glad it’s not yesterday. I had the worst headache- like all day and I had work piled up to my throat. I spent weeks and months visualizing and attracting the workload and now- she is here! So instead of getting overwhelmed, I simply need to remember, this is what I asked for- so I am grateful.

My yoga class always makes me feel better, and the Lemon Ginger tea they had in the waiting room was so yummy(no those are not a man’s hands-they are mine)

I went to Whole Foods on the way home and got my own!

I never really considered myself a tea drinker- AT ALL.  But I am really liking this. I like Chai Tea too, and that’s about it. Can you guys convert me? What other teas should I try?

What do you think about when you drink tea? Art? Books? Smurfs?

ohhhhh guess what? I got 100 pairs of eyelashes in the mail today! It was rather exciting. I’m going to be doing a lot of makeup over Christmas for Groupon, so instead of spending $5-8 on them at the drug store, or even the $4 at the Makeup artist shop (Holly North) I bought my own from a wholesaler. They cost me about $1.75 a pair. Pretty stoked. I’m going to do an eyelash giveaway soon- so stay tuned. Also, if you aren’t great at putting eyelashes on- I can help, I will be doing a video soon on how to get them on perfectly!

I get to test these bad boys out tonight-I’m going to a party tonight for the CRAVE Vancouver book launch. Have you heard of Crave? It’s pretty cool idea. They make a book and have all of Vancouver’s best, most stylish entrepreneurs featured in it. I did makeup for some girls in the book. Crave is in a whole bunch of cities across North America. Is it in yours?

It’s fun to get dolled up for fun events. If I lived in a dream world, before going out to big events, this is what I would do:

1.Go to the gym and workout with my personal trainer/get a massage

    2.Shower/shave (duh;)

    3.Go for a spray tan

    4.Whiten teeth

5.Get my hair done by someone I trust

    6. Get a spa mani and pedi

    7. Have a stylist piece together a kick ass outfit

    8.Do my own makeup;)

    9. Open up a bottle of champagne

    10. PARTY

What would you do before going out, if you could do ANYTHING? I would also get a facial, get my eyebrows done a couple days before.

I’m gonna leave you with that today. Write out your “dream” getting ready session, make a date to do it by and make it happen. I will do the same….

    Love and light!!!

  • Hello!!!

Happy Sunday! I let myself sleep in today. IT WAS GLORIOUS! Best sleep ever. Sometimes when I know I have to get up really early, I can’t fall asleep cause I stress about having to get up! That will be tomorrow. Monday morning. YAY and NAY. YAY because you never know what opportunities lie ahead for the week and NAY because, well, getting up at 5:15am sucks! If you guys think I’m positive- you gotta check out JB (the founder) doesn’t use the word “alarm clock”, he calls it an “opportunity clock”..haha. Try that one Monday morning!

So I woke up about 8:30am (yes thats sleeping in for me), made some coffee and realized, I gotta get to yoga pretty quick in order to fit it in the day. AND I need to bring some food with me to get me through the day…SOOO yesterday I went to Whole Foods and bought all the fixings to make my own Lara Bars. Next time you are in a store that sells them, look at the ingredients.

There is like 3 ingredients! Awesome- now let’s make our own to save on $$. The cool thing is, when you make your own, you can get creative and put whatever you want in them! (I know I’ve made them before on the blog- but we have a lot of new readers, so let’s do it again!) All you need is a lil tub of dates- and whatever fixings you feel like.

A “HOT DATE” with dates!  Organic? Even HOTTER! OWWWW!

I am going to use dried cranberries and cashews- (don’t ya hate when you buy bulk and you pour too much by mistake? Then what do you do? I was going to leave them and get another bag- but worker stocking shelves was watching. DAMN. $70 worth of cashews!!! (not that bad-but more than I wanted)

Halfway through pitting the dates, I decided I would bake some bananas to add (now it’s not as fast- but still easy).

Now, while they bake in the oven and make your home smell amazing, get everything ready in your processor. (If you don’t have a processor-get one-awesome investment. We got our at Costco for about $75)

    add your cash and crans

Then…write a blog while you wait for the bananas. ummmmmm hi! ahhhh….what’s new? Have you seen any good moustaches for Movember? This one is my favourite…..

    Janna’s boy Jack:)

Hee hee. Sooo freaking cute. Ok….what else is new?? Check out my cousin Margarita who lives in Greece. She is a makeup artist and did a fantastic job of being Lady Gaga for Halloween

    Such a pretty cousin!

Checking on banana’s. Ok, good enough. Toss em in and let’s go for a spin!WeeeeeeeAfter a while it will start to ball upThen dump it on a piece of saran wrap so you don’t have to touch it- all sticky.I rolled it in the saran wrap, then smoothed it out, using a little baggie on my hand. Now cut it up!You can definitely take more time to cut them into nice bars, I was kind of in a hurry. Then throw them in the fridge so they harden.

Now, I totally just wing it, but if you want to get “technical” with the measurements, here is one I found online:

1/4 cup chopped dates (roughly chopped whole dates, not pre -chopped)

1/4 cup dried cherries or dried cranberries

1/3 cup whole pecans, almonds or walnuts

    1/8 teaspoon cinnamon

That recipe looks like it would make about 2 bars. Do it like I do and just wing it, You will do fine:)

Have a great day! I’m off to yoga, coffee with friend and gospel choir tonight!

    Oops, my bad!

    Hey there!!!

Top of the day ladies and gents!

What’s happening today? My day has been going well…despite my little mix up this morning. I’ve been telling Andrea for weeks now.”Yo Girl- come check out this meditation- its’s Super cool, think you’ll like it!” So Saturday morning arrives, I pick her up at 8:20am we drive all the way out to Richmond. (me getting lost on the way cuz we were to busy talking about this, among other things)  We finally arrive at the gates of the temple, park, take one step out of the truck. and some lady out of nowhere- walks by us and says “no meditation today, no til end November.” OOOOPS! My bad. At that moment I remembered Dee telling me she thought they might be shutting it down for a couple weeks due to temple construction. It was just like in National Lampoon’s Vacation, when they went to Wally world and it was closed!!(except we didn’t punch anything, we calmly walked through the temple gardens and smiled and laughed at all the little buddha’s everywhere) best thing, We got coffee, went over to her place and had a nice Saturday morning chat. Then I looked at the time. Ahh-10:16, I have yoga at 10:30, so I rushed off to kitsilano, finally found a parking spot and SPRINTED into yoga. They were shutting the door as I was walking in. I hate being late for things like that cuz EVERYONE stares at you. I had to walk through about 50 people, stepping on their mats- “sorry, excuse me, coming through- hey is there any room over there?” The place was so packed I had to put my mat way around the corner!! It was incredibly awkward at first, but once the class started, I really liked my little spot beyond yonder.

Today was DAY 5 of my 30 day challenge at Semperviva. I am LOVING yoga. It is only day 5 and I am noticing positive changes, body and mind. Have you ever done a Kundalini class before? If they offer this type of yoga near you- check it out. It is such a good workout and energy release. I found a video online that you can download for 8.99 if you don’t have Kundalini where you are. It’s here. There is chanting and mantra’s along with repetitive moves. Be open to it if it is a new thing to you.

Now going  to go meet up with a friend I haven’t seen in a while, but first I must go mail a package off to my future sister in law. I am sending her THE BEST moisturizer in the world. (she lives in Yellowknife and we need to protect her pretty face from the dry and cold!) I have used this stuff since I was 16 years old. It is inexpensive, works amazing and a must have for sensitive skin like mine!

It’s about $10 a bottle. You usually have to ask the pharmacist for it. They keep it behind the counter because it is usually dermatologist referred. They also use it as a neutral compound for topical medicine. So you know it won’t irritate your skin! You can find it behind the counter at Costco,London Drugs, and usually Pharmasave.

Thought of the day (inspired by my yoga teacher) “There are enough mediocre people in the world.” Be different! Be yourself, you don’t need to “fit in”!!! oh..and have fun;)

    Talk to you sooooooooooooooon!! xoxo

ps. no daily affirmation today..cuz it’s up there^^^^^^^^^^ don’t be mediocre! go kick some ass!

  • Hey!!

How are you?? Day off today? I thought today would be a day off in the voiceover world-but nope:)

What do you think of Remembrance day? Do you get really involved in ceremonies, take time to reflect, or is it just another day?

Sometimes I feel ignorant because I don’t do more to reflect, or respect the purpose of what today is all about. I think the reason why, is that I can get upset…really fast. (neat little trait I have, lol) If I think too much about things, I can get really sad in a flash. So…I try to find some middle ground because I don’t want to bawl my eyes out all day. Yes, I am soo grateful to live in SUCH an amazing country. I am humbled that our grandparents, aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters, cousins and these days even our friends are fighting for peace on earth. I wish there were never even wars to begin with (see…I’m starting to cry…k..stop).

Today my good friend Diana is remembering her Grandpa who was a Senior Commander in The Royal Australian Air Force. He was also knighted by the Queen of England. I was floored when I read his bioSir Valston Eldridge Hancock

    His beautiful Granddaughter

You must be proud Diana! My granddad fought in World War 2, as I’m sure many of yours did too. We love you grandparents. Wouldn’t be here without you.

Maybe take a moment to put out positive energy in the world. Think about the song “This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.” Imagine if we all shined our little lights together, we would have the biggest brightest light. Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine!!

I can’t believe it’s Thursday already! This week is flying. I went to a 9:00am yoga class. I am now onto Day 3 of my 30 day Yoga challenge at Semperviva. I’m starting to feel a lot more comfortable at the studio, knowing my way around, etc. I was SORE today tho! Especially in the shoulders. All those downward dogs are reshaping me! Imagine day 30?! I will be on fire. The last couple days I have made big salads for dinner. I have to say, the last few days I have really impressed myself with my workout dedication and clean eating. Woo hoo. Am I on a roll???? ya… I think so…

After yoga I met Andrea for coffee. We took a walk down South Granville. Check out Andrea’s ride:

She is an Alberta girls who LOVES her truck. I always get a kick out it. Here you have this drop dead gorgeous girl cruising around in a ’79 Chevy Scottsdale, she’s got a shortbox and stepside. (I had to text her for that info)Truck Driver;)

Hee hee. We walked down South Granville wandering in and out of shops. We came up with some great theories about life:
    1. Nice underwear is important! Girls- let’s get rid of our ratty old granny panties and buy some nice undies that make you feel good.
    2. For those of us not in our dream homes yet, cut out pictures of furniture from a Pottery Barn magazine and make a collage. (Then visualize that it is yours!)
    3. Lighting candles is fun…anytime of day.
    4. We want new boots. They cost about $450.

Do you and your girlfriends come up with theories? Like what?

I hope you have a wonderful reflective positive day!
